Namakaran Puja, also known as a naming ceremony, is a highly auspicious occasion for Hindus. This is one of the earliest religious ceremonies in which a child takes part. This ritual is held not only to officially name the infant but also to ask for the blessings of many Gods and to introduce the child into the faith. The puja is performed at home or at a temple, and the Purohit prays to all the Gods and elements, imploring them to bless and protect the child.
